Criminology group, education unit deliver ‘Adopt a Wish’ gifts

The Criminology Martial Arts Society of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation partnered with the College of Education Community Extension Service in 2026 to carry out the “Adopt a Wish” project, delivering gifts to children in Lucena City to provide joy and emotional support.
Student volunteers from both colleges worked together to identify beneficiaries and fulfill their wishes, creating a meaningful outreach experience that highlighted compassion and service.
Organizers said the initiative strengthened collaboration between the two colleges and encouraged students to engage beyond classroom learning through direct community interaction.
“This activity reminded us that even simple acts can make a big difference in someone’s life,” a student volunteer said. “It helped us realize the importance of giving and serving others.”
Participants said the outreach deepened their understanding of community needs and helped them develop empathy, responsibility and social awareness.
The program reinforced service-oriented values by allowing students to take part in real-life initiatives that emphasized kindness and meaningful engagement with the community.
The activity reflected the University’s core values of Service, Unity and Mindfulness by encouraging compassion and collaborative outreach efforts among students. It also supported transformative learning by providing real-world experiences that develop empathy and social responsibility.
