CME orients stakeholders on department overviews, OBT roadmap, student guidelines

To orient stakeholders on program highlights and student requirements, the College of Maritime Education (CME) held a general orientation for parents, guardians and students, led by Capt. Wildy Nagares, PhD., and 2E Rio Henson Derecho, MSc MET.
The event was held Aug. 7 at the Basic Education Department covered court and brought together faculty and staff for a meeting with parents and students to discuss key academic and administrative matters.
Presenters reviewed department overviews, the on-board training (OBT) roadmap and key guidelines affecting student matters, explaining schedules, expectations and stakeholder responsibilities.
Faculty and staff answered questions from parents and students and emphasized collaboration between the College, families and learners to support academic progress and readiness for OBT.
Organizers said the orientation aimed to ensure that parents and students understood program requirements and available support services and to foster ongoing communication between the College and its stakeholders.
The orientation supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to student-centered learning and outcomes-oriented education by informing families about academic requirements and experiential training. Engaging parents and guardians promoted collaborative support structures that help students meet program and training milestones.
