Career orientation introduces mechanical engineering students to industry pathways


Expanding students’ awareness of professional opportunities and emerging technologies, the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers–MSEUF Student Unit, in partnership with the Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Quezon Province Chapter, conducted the JPSME-QPC Career Orientation 2026 on Aug. 1 through Google Meet.
The virtual seminar gathered mechanical engineering students to explore career pathways and the evolving demands of the engineering industry through discussions led by professionals from different sectors.
The sessions covered heating, ventilation and air conditioning and fire protection systems, artificial intelligence in engineering, the power plant industry and the aviation industry. Participants gained insights into current industry trends, emerging technologies and the competencies needed to pursue careers in these specialized fields.
The program began with opening remarks and the introduction of the guest speakers, followed by morning and afternoon technical sessions. Students interacted with industry practitioners, learned from their professional experiences and broadened their understanding of mechanical engineering practice.
The event concluded with a virtual photo opportunity and the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the invited speakers.
Through the career orientation, participants gained a wider perspective on the opportunities available to mechanical engineers and the importance of continuous learning, professional development and active involvement in engineering organizations.
The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to outcomes-oriented and industry-based education by connecting students with professionals and introducing them to current practices and technologies in mechanical engineering.
