Enverga University improves global standing in GreenMetric sustainability rankings
Reflecting its continued commitment to sustainability, responsible governance and institutional improvement, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation advanced to 610th place in the 2026 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings after completing its third institutional submission.
MSEUF improved by 158 places from its 768th-place ranking in 2025. The result highlighted the University’s efforts to integrate environmental stewardship, sustainable campus operations and institutional accountability into its programs and services.
The UI GreenMetric Committee worked with offices across the University to gather, validate and consolidate institutional data based on the ranking’s seven assessment indicators. University President Naila Leveriza and Executive Vice President Dr. Benilda Villenas led the initiative, while Vice President Celso Jaballa, committee chairperson, provided strategic direction, policy guidance, supervision and final approval of the consolidated reports and submission.
Director Arby Lagman, co-chairperson for sustainability, coordinated sustainability initiatives, data gathering, indicator compliance and documentation of waste management programs and policies. Dr. Jennifer Reyes, co-chairperson for internationalization, documented international partnerships and global engagement initiatives while overseeing reports on sustainability, governance, budget documentation and digitalization.
Director Leah Salas consolidated and validated reports on setting and infrastructure, including campus facilities, open spaces and sustainability-supportive environments. Engr. Renato Vergara and Engr. Ronaldo Maaño handled documentation for water conservation, while Engr. Ariel Nicolas prepared reports on energy efficiency, renewable energy, greenhouse gas reduction and climate action.
Vice President Carlito Rodriguez led the transportation indicator by documenting sustainable transportation systems, pedestrian facilities, traffic management practices and carbon-reduction initiatives. Engr. Roselyn Maaño and Dean Rodrigo Belleza consolidated reports on sustainability-focused instruction, research, extension programs, publications, conferences and other academic initiatives under the education and research indicator.
Director John Rover Sinag managed the digital submission, maintained the University’s sustainability webpage and presented institutional initiatives through the Sustainability Report and online platforms. Director Mark Gaylord Genovaña organized institutional records and documented meetings and related activities, while the Information and Communications Technology Department, Human Resource Development Office and Registrar’s Office supported the completion of the submission.
As MSEUF prepares for the 2027 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, the University will continue to strengthen its sustainability initiatives, institutional collaboration and environmental accountability. Its progress reflects the collective efforts of administrators, faculty members, employees and partner offices working toward a more sustainable and globally competitive institution.
The University’s improved standing supports its institutional direction: “Vision in progress. Toward 2030, Enverga University advances global competitiveness through excellence in teaching, quality assurance and international recognition.” The achievement also reflects the core values of Mindfulness, Service, Excellence, Unity and Fortitude through collaborative stewardship, evidence-based reporting and the integration of sustainability into academic and operational initiatives.
