Helping freshmen and transferees adjust to university life, the CAS Social Sciences Society participated in OSALUBONG 2026 by operating an information booth on July 13-14 in front of the AEC Little Theater of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.
Four officers and seven members of the organization staffed the booth throughout the two-day activity, assisting students, particularly those from the College of Arts and Sciences, in locating classrooms and navigating the campus.
The student volunteers provided directions and basic campus information to help newcomers become more familiar with University facilities and reach their destinations with greater ease during their first days on campus.
To make the booth more welcoming and engaging, the organization also distributed ballpens, candies, lollipops, stickers and flyers to freshmen and transferees.
Through the activity, SSS members demonstrated teamwork, service and active involvement while supporting new students as they began their University journey.
The initiative also strengthened the organization’s role in creating a welcoming campus environment by providing practical assistance and helping students feel more connected to the MSEUF community.
The activity supported MSEUF’s student-centered approach by providing new students with practical guidance and assistance during their transition to university life. It also reflected the core values of Service, Unity and Mindfulness through volunteerism, teamwork and responsive support for fellow students.
- SDG 4: Quality Education — The activity supported students’ transition into higher education by helping them navigate the campus and become more familiar with their learning environment.
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — Collaboration among student volunteers and the wider University community contributed to a more coordinated and welcoming experience for freshmen and transferees.
