Promoting the connection between physical activity and mental well-being, the Society of Culture, Arts, and Physical Education partnered with the Office of Student Affairs and Services for “Tatag Envergans: The Mental Health Parade” on Oct. 9 at St. Bonaventure.

The activity gathered 250 participants, including students, faculty members, University employees and SCAPE members, for activities designed to raise mental health awareness and promote emotional and physical well-being across the University community.

As part of the program, SCAPE led two Zumba sessions that encouraged participants to engage in dance and physical exercise. The sessions provided an active component to the mental health initiative while emphasizing physical movement as one way of supporting overall wellness.

Through the Zumba activities, participants were encouraged to stay active, relieve stress and recognize the relationship between physical and mental health. The sessions also promoted camaraderie and collective participation among members of the University community.

SCAPE’s collaboration with OSAS strengthened student organization involvement in University wellness initiatives and demonstrated how physical education and recreational activities can complement mental health awareness programs.

Through “Tatag Envergans,” the participating groups contributed to efforts to foster a supportive campus environment where members of the MSEUF community are encouraged to prioritize their well-being and support one another.

The activity supported Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s commitment to holistic and student-centered development by promoting both physical activity and mental well-being. It also reflected the core values of Mindfulness, Service and Unity through wellness advocacy, collaboration and collective participation across the University community.

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being — The activity promoted mental health awareness, stress management and physical activity as components of overall wellness.
  • SDG 4: Quality Education — The event complemented students’ academic development by encouraging awareness and practices that support their holistic well-being.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — The collaboration between SCAPE and OSAS demonstrated coordinated action in promoting health and wellness within the University.
