MSEUF students begin intensive laboratory training in Thailand

Thirteen medical technology and one biology students from Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) have departed for Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU), Thailand, to undergo an Intensive Laboratory Training program from Feb. 18 to Mar. 4, 2025.

The training covers parasitology, hematology, urinalysis, cadaveric study, histopathology, chemistry, and DNA analysis. Participating students include Gabrielle Anne B. Reyes, Shanelle Jade Aviles, Christian Joshua Araya, Marci Cam Cardenas, Althea Lafuente, Aubrey Pamela Par, Megan Marie Dela Torre, Briana Yesha Sante, Princess Lyka Fulo, Mary Ann Rivadulla, Gweneth Maureen Barretto, Claire Alano, Angelica Nillo, and Cris Dominic Magbujos. Faculty-in-charge Ms. Catherine C. Bainto will oversee their progress.

MSEUF administrators and faculty members, including Dr. Carmina Tolentino, medical technology program chair; Dean Maria Corazon Valdeavilla, dean of nursing and allied health sciences, and Dr. Jennifer Reyes, OIC for special internationalization projects joined parents in sending off the students.

Dr. Valdeavilla highlighted the significance of this opportunity in broadening the students’ expertise.

“This program exposes our students to advanced laboratory techniques and practices, preparing them to meet global standards in medical technology,” Valdeavilla said.

Dr. Tolentino emphasized the impact of international training on professional growth.

“Hands-on experience in different laboratory settings enhances not only technical skills but also adaptability and confidence, which are crucial in the medical field,” Tolentino said.

The Office of Special Internationalization Projects (OSIP) of MSEUF and the Office of International Relations of HCU will jointly monitor the program to ensure its success as part of the universities’ student mobility initiatives.
