MSEUF, Thai academy strengthen ties through culture and sports exchange

Advancing internationalization through cultural learning and sports development, the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Basic Education Department hosted representatives of BJP Elite Academy of Pattaya, Thailand, for a cultural immersion and sports exchange program from July 26-29.

BJP Elite Academy Director Jean Pierre Berrie and faculty member Alexandre Mongkorn Berrie visited the University as part of the institutions’ continuing partnership. The program opened at the AEC Little Theatre with performances by the Basic Education Department Lyre Band, MSEUF Concert Singers, Banyuhay Dance Troupe and Tanglaw Dance Troupe, highlighting Filipino arts, talent and cultural traditions.

Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa and Acting Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala delivered welcome messages. BJP Elite Academy Head Teacher Kristine Moore and Alexandre Berrie expressed their appreciation for the University’s hospitality and emphasized the importance of strengthening international partnerships through education, sports and cultural exchange.

In the afternoon, the MSEUF Taekwondo Team joined a kickboxing demonstration and clinic led by Berrie, a faculty member and Asian kickboxing champion. Students, parents and members of the University community observed kickboxing techniques and learned about training practices that promoted discipline, sportsmanship and cross-cultural learning.

On the second day, the visitors explored Quezon Province’s cultural heritage at Villa Escudero. Basic Education Department Principal Reina Pasumbal, Assistant Principal Romel Hiloma and Dr. Jennifer Reyes of the Office of Global Engagement and Linkages accompanied the delegation as they experienced Filipino traditions and local history.

The visit strengthened the collaboration between MSEUF and BJP Elite Academy in academic cooperation, cultural exchange and sports development. It also provided participants with global learning experiences that promoted friendship, cultural understanding and excellence in education.

The exchange supported the University’s vision of global competitiveness by providing opportunities for international engagement, cultural learning and sports development. It also reflected the core values of Excellence, Unity and Service by strengthening institutional partnerships and creating meaningful learning experiences for students and the wider University community.
