With a goal to make quality education more accessible, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation presses on with the construction of its upcoming Mauban campus. More than half of the overall timeline for the costruction is targeted for completion by May, allowing sufficient allowance for adjustments and finishing works before it operates by June. To support early preparations, four classrooms are planned for initial completion, while construction of additional facilities with its second floor continues. Other structures such as the guardhouse, flagpole, faculty room, and parking areas for personnel are scheduled to follow.

JANUARY CONSTRUCTION UPDATES: Site preparation and early groundwork activity begins

The development of the new campus continued to advance as construction updates were reviewed on-site on January 9, reflecting the university's efforts to keep the project on track.

As of January, site preparation and early-stage construction activities are underway across the new campus grounds, as the project begins to take its first physical shape.

FEBRUARY CONSTRUCTION UPDATESLaying the foundation marks steady progress

Construction at the upcoming Mauban campus continues to move forward, with foundation works currently focusing on the footing for the tie beams. On-site activities remain concentrated below ground level, reflecting the progression through its foundation phase.

The rainy weather from the past months, the presence of groundwater on-site, and minor slippages served as a challenge for the construction. However, these were managed by continuous dewatering and have not delayed the construction schedule.

To prepare for the next phase, site tidying and layout works continue to move toward above-ground activities. Construction materials and manpower are also set to be fully mobilized on site.

As of the first week of February, about 15% of the total project has been accomplished. Despite challenges, construction remains right on schedule, highlighting steady progress and readiness for the phases ahead.

MARCH CONSTRUCTION UPDATES—Structural works rise as construction moves above ground

Work at the incoming Mauban campus has broken above ground, with crews now pushing structural activity to the second floor.

Laborers are currently laying the suspended slab for the second floor while ground floor wall construction continues through ongoing concrete hollow block (CHB) work. Vertical reinforcements for the staircase have also been set, priming the site for the next phase of structural work. A slab pour and works on flooring are expected to start soon.

Finishing works are targeted to kick off later this month. Workers are also expected to break ground on surrounding site features — among them the perimeter fence, guardhouse, and flagpole — as the campus eyes a May operational opening.

Workers on scaffolding continue with first-floor structural works to prepare for its second floor. Steel bars stand ready for the next phase of construction.

With the building’s main structural components now taking a clearer form, the project has reached approximately 40% completion.

As of March 18:

Columns above the second-floor slab are now visible, with reinforcement for the next set of structural beams currently being installed. Scaffolding has also been extended to the upper level to support ongoing construction activities as workers continue assembling the building’s structural framework.

APRIL CONSTRUCTION UPDATES: First floor nears completion as finishing works get underway

Structure of Mauban campus has crossed the 60% completion mark, with finishing works now visible on the ground floor, project engineer Darwin Lagdaan confirmed.

Tile-laying is already underway in two of the four ground-floor classrooms. This signs that the building is moving past raw construction and into its final interior phase. Engr. Lagdaan said the university is eyeing a May opening for the first floor, which would allow students and faculty to begin using the facility even as work pushes forward on the level above.

The upper floor, meanwhile, is still in the structural phase. Roof trusses are currently being installed — a critical milestone that closes off the building from the elements and sets the stage for interior works to follow. Completion of the second floor, which will mirror the four-classroom layout of the first, is targeted for August or September.

Workers carry out finishing and surface preparations along the first-floor corridor, including the benches in front of the classrooms.

MAY CONSTRUCTION UPDATES: Ground floor completed as second floor finishing works move forward

Construction of the Mauban Campus building is entering its final stretch. The ground floor is substantially complete, and finishing works are now advancing to the second floor, project engineer Darwin Lagdaan confirmed.

The roof has been finished and all four classrooms on the first floor were completed as of May 11. Remaining ground-floor work awaits its punch listing, a final inspection phase where minor defects and last-minute adjustments are identified and resolved before turnover.

Ceiling installation and painting works are ongoing on the upper level. Once those are done, both floors will be ready to serve students. Final touches within the classroom are also being prepared in parallel. Glass boards and television units are ready and waiting for installation upon delivery.

The university had originally targeted a May opening for the first floor, but Lagdaan said the timeline was adjusted to ensure full compliance with Department of Education standards. Both floors are now expected to be turned over by June 15.
