The upcoming Mauban campus of Enverga University launches its summer basketball clinic and dance workshop on April 16 at the Mauban Municipal Gymnasium. This program targets incoming Grade 7 and Grade 11 students.

Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario Opistan said the camp gives incoming Grade 7 and Grade 11 students the chance to develop their skills in basketball and dance, with 30 slots open for each. Participants will undergo a 12-day program before being evaluated as potential MSEUF scholarship beneficiaries.

Mauban Vice Mayor Alween Sardea graced the event with a message acknowledging the university's efforts to make quality education accessible to Maubanins, extending the town's gratitude to University Chairman Atty. Wilfrido L. Enverga and his family for their continued commitment to the community.

Highlights of the program included a dance exhibition by the MSEUF Tanglaw Kultura Dance Troupe and a basketball exhibition game between the Lucena Wildcats and a Mauban selection team, where Lucena Wildcats won with a score of 65-83. After these exhibitions, applications and tryouts for camp and workshop started to open.

The launch of the summer basketball clinic and dance workshop by Enverga-Mauban reflects the university's commitment to nurturing youth talent and expanding access to quality education beyond the classroom. By partnering with the local government and engaging incoming students from the community, the program advances several key development goals.

  • SDG 4: Quality Education — The camp and workshop provided opportunities for incoming Grade 7 and Grade 11 students, with scholarship evaluation pathways that help make quality education more accessible to Mauban residents.
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being — The basketball clinic and dance workshop promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles among the youth, contributing to their overall well-being.
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities — By offering program slots tied to scholarship opportunities, the university helps level the playing field for students who may otherwise lack access to sports and arts training.
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — The event demonstrates strong collaboration between Enverga University and the Mauban local government
