EBF shares hospitality skills with PDLs through outreach seminar

The Enverga Bar Flippers conducted “Serve and Succeed,” a community outreach seminar at the BJMP Quezon District Jail to share hospitality skills with persons deprived of liberty and help open possible career opportunities for them in the future.
The activity focused on practical training in table napkin folding, skirting and formal table setup. Through these sessions, participants gained exposure to hospitality techniques that may support livelihood and employment opportunities after their release.
EBF members actively supported the conduct of the seminar by preparing presentation materials, arranging formal table linens and glassware, and assisting in the setup needed for the demonstrations. Their participation helped ensure an organized and professional learning environment.
By bringing hospitality education into a correctional setting, the organization extended its service beyond the campus and promoted the value of second chances through skills development.
The seminar also allowed EBF members to apply their knowledge in a meaningful community-based activity. It strengthened their sense of social responsibility while demonstrating how hospitality can be used to serve and uplift others.
Through the outreach project, EBF contributed to the empowerment of participants by sharing practical and transferable skills that may help them pursue productive opportunities in the future.
The activity reflected MSEUF’s commitment to service and transformative learning by encouraging students to use their skills in support of community empowerment. It also upheld the core values of Service, Mindfulness and Unity as EBF members worked together to extend meaningful opportunities to underserved individuals.
