MSEUF Strengthens Global Partnerships During Hanoi Educational Tour
Another global educational tour to Vietnam took place from December 15 to 19, 2024, this time in Hanoi City. The delegation, led by Dr. Flormando Baldovino, Dean of the College of Business Administration (CBA), included members of the team from MSEUF’s initial global exploration in May to Ho Chi Minh City. Joining the group were Dr. Felixberto Mercado, Associate Dean of the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research (IGSR) and Dean of DCAVRKMI, along with three MBA students: Ronaliza Zamoras, Julia Legazpi, and Rogelyn D. Veluz.
This tour showcased MSEUF’s strengths while fostering relationships with educational institutions in Vietnam, highlighting Filipino culture and the value of "magaling na pakikisama," or the art of building harmonious relationships.
The delegation’s journey began with Hanoi’s chilly winter breeze welcoming them upon arrival. With temperatures dipping to 14 degrees Celsius, the team instantly felt the charm of the season. After capturing a few photos, they headed to their hotel in the bustling Old Quarter. Arriving ahead of schedule, the group took the opportunity to explore Hanoi’s vibrant streets, immersing themselves in the city’s unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Forging New Alliances with Viet-Hung University
The first stop on the itinerary was Viet-Hung University, also known as Vietnam-Hungary Industrial University. Established in 1977 with Hungarian government funding, this institution specializes in industrial and technological education. Currently, it serves around 6,000 students and employs 350 teaching and non-teaching staff.
The team received a warm welcome from Dr. Sue Sea, a former student of Dr. Baldovino, and the university’s leadership. Both institutions presented their profiles, focusing on key programs and goals. Viet-Hung’s Director emphasized the need for collaboration with international institutions to prepare students and faculty for global integration. The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), an exchange of tokens, and a celebratory lunch at the scenic Hoang Long Bay Resort.
Strengthening Ties with NAEM
Buoyed by the success of their first meeting, the delegation proceeded to the National Academy of Education Management (NAEM). They were greeted by a distinguished audience of faculty members and dignitaries, who had prepared a formal program for the occasion.
The ceremony began with institutional presentations. Dr. Felix Mercado introduced EU FLIGHT, Enverga University’s mobility program and faculty/student exchange initiatives. NAEM’s enthusiasm was evident through their engaging questions and interest in collaboration. The session concluded with another MOU signing, followed by group photos to commemorate the partnership.
A Surprise Invitation
An unexpected invitation to visit Trade Union University added an exciting twist to the itinerary. Though unplanned, the visit underscored MSEUF’s growing international reputation. The university hosted a formal program to discuss potential collaborations and share best practices. The positive feedback from both parties highlighted the mutual respect and eagerness to work together. As a token of appreciation, Trade Union University presented the delegation with local Vietnamese treats.
Expanding MSEUF’s Global Horizon
MSEUF’s exploration in Hanoi marked another milestone in its mission to advance global education and foster international partnerships. Through engagements with institutions like Viet-Hung University, NAEM, and Trade Union University, the university strengthened its presence on the global stage.
This journey not only showcased MSEUF’s academic programs and initiatives but also emphasized the importance of building relationships that transcend borders. With new opportunities on the horizon, MSEUF continues its commitment to producing globally competent graduates and establishing a strong international footprint.
