Ensuring students received required learning materials before classes began, the Society of Culture, Arts, and Physical Education (SCAPE) conducted a two-week distribution of learning modules for PATHFIT 1 and PE 3 students.

The distribution took place July 27-Aug. 6, 2026, at the Dance Studio, University Gymnasium, with specific activities held on July 27, 28, 30, 31 and Aug. 5-6. The effort aimed to provide students with their modules in an organized, timely manner ahead of and during the start of classes.

Ten SCAPE officers and members prepared and organized the modules, verified recipient lists, handed out the appropriate materials and assisted students with questions and concerns. When the PATHFIT 1 modules were delayed on July 31, officers distributed the available PE 3 modules and informed students about the release schedule for the remaining PATHFIT 1 materials.

SCAPE completed distribution of the delayed PATHFIT 1 modules on Aug. 5-6 and continued to manage a steady flow of students while maintaining an orderly process. The activity served PATHFIT 1 and PE 3 students enrolled in the College of Education.

By coordinating preparation, verification and distribution, SCAPE supported students’ access to course materials and helped minimize disruption at the start of classes. The officers’ work demonstrated teamwork, responsibility and service to the Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Community Arts and Education Department community.

Recognizing their service in the Philippine National Police, two alumni of the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation criminology program received the Medalya ng Kagalingan, or PNP Medal of Merit, in August at the Quezon Police Provincial Office.

PCpl Franz Yrral Obciana, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology graduate from Batch 2015, was among the recipients of the recognition.

Pat John Bonrev Roi Rodas, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology graduate from Batch 2018, also received the Medalya ng Kagalingan.

The recognition highlighted the professional achievements of MSEUF criminology alumni serving in law enforcement and reflected their continuing contribution to public service.

Expanding hands-on learning opportunities in communication and digital media production, the College of Arts and Sciences of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation formally opened its newly constructed communication laboratory through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing on Aug. 25 at the AEC Building.

The ceremony began at 8:30 a.m. and brought together Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for academics and research and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Atty. Dario Opistan, senior vice president for administration; Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa; Dr. Carmina Tolentino, director of University Laboratories; Jennifer Sanchez, dean of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts; Fr. Ferdinand Maaño; Languages and Humanities faculty members; and members of the MSEUF Communication Society.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Ayala explained that the long-planned project was developed to provide a larger communication laboratory that can respond to students’ current needs amid the continuing shift toward digital technology.

The facility will support students in producing media-related outputs while developing their communication, technical and ideation skills. It is also intended to provide practical learning experiences that can help prepare communication students for careers in the media and communication industry.

Beyond serving communication students, the laboratory will provide opportunities for students from other University programs to work on media-related academic outputs and develop competencies relevant to digital content production.

The opening of the facility strengthened the College of Arts and Sciences’ capacity to provide technology-supported and experiential learning opportunities responsive to the evolving demands of communication and media practice.

The new communication laboratory supported the University’s commitment to learning by doing, student-centered education and excellence in teaching by providing students with a dedicated space for practical media production and communication training. Showcasing skill and competitive excellence on the international stage, Enverga dancesport athletes captured four gold medals and one bronze at the Ballare International Championship 2026 held Aug. 22 in Singapore.

Fillip Zander Hernandez and Frances Heleana Buta earned gold medals in the Standard Novice A and Standard Novice B categories.

Gian Franco Hernandez and Precious Jewel Manalo won gold in Standard Pre-Amateur and secured bronze in Standard Rising Star.

Izekiel Janrey Lequin and Jhen Chrisel Profeta captured gold in Standard Under 19. The pair also placed fourth in Adult Open Single Dance Waltz, fifth in Tango, sixth in Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep, and eighth in Amateur Asia Pacific Standard.

Coach Liezl Villadiego guided the athletes during the international competition. Their participation provided them with opportunities to demonstrate their technical skills, discipline and teamwork while gaining experience in an international competitive setting.

The results further strengthened the athletes’ international competition experience and reflected their continued development in dancesport.

Showcasing competitive excellence on the international stage, Enverga dancesport athletes earned multiple gold and silver medals at the Flow Grand International Dancesport Championship 2026 held Aug. 20 at the St. Regis Hotel Jakarta in Indonesia.

Fillip Zander Hernandez and Frances Heleana Buta secured gold medals in the Adult Single Dance Waltz, Adult Single Dance Tango and Adult Single Dance Quickstep events.

Strengthening camaraderie, teamwork and belonging among new and returning members, SCAPE of the College of Education at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation held a team-building activity that featured games, year-level performances, a motivational talk, fellowship, shared meals and a Zumba session.

The activity took place Aug. 15 at the Enverga University Swimming Pool and involved 70 members from first year to fourth year, with particular focus on first- and second-year students as part of their orientation and engagement with the organization.

Participants engaged in team-building games that promoted cooperation and communication and watched talent presentations by the first- and second-year students. The performances allowed students to showcase their abilities while strengthening group cohesion.

Sir Jude Calvin Cordero, founder of the SCAPE program, delivered a talk during the event, and Mr. Kevin S. Amo and Mr. Melvin J. Hernandez, SCAPE advisers, provided guidance and support throughout the activities.

Organizers also scheduled fellowship activities, shared meals and a group Zumba session to promote interaction, physical wellness and a sense of belonging among members.

The advisers supported the plan and execution of the program, ensuring that new members became familiar with SCAPE and that all participants had opportunities to interact, lead and collaborate.

Promoting responsible youth participation and practical awareness of community issues, the Junior Financial Executives participated as a partner organization in “Kaisa Kabataan: Igniting the Hearts of Youth for the Community 2026” on Aug. 15 at the AEC Little Theatre of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.

The activity brought together JFINEX officers and members, EUJPIA representatives and advisers, and students from different University departments for discussions on environmental responsibility, disaster preparedness and financial literacy.

The first resource speaker discussed environmental concerns, including disasters, prevention and adaptation, emphasizing the importance of caring for the environment and preparing for possible calamities.

The second speaker, the owner of Tonio’s Sisig, focused on financial literacy and shared practical advice on managing and saving money. Among the key reminders presented was the importance of spending less than one earns to avoid financial difficulties and develop responsible money habits.

JFINEX President Kimberly Azul, General Secretary Erica Briñes and CBA-DSC Acting Chairperson Franco Pagdonsolan joined fellow JFINEX members and officers in supporting the event. Tonio’s Sisig also provided rice meal sisig to participating students.

The program concluded with the recognition of resource speakers and partner organizations for their contributions to the activity. Working with the College of Business and Accountancy Department Student Council, selected JMA officers prepared and arranged certificates and trophies according to event categories before the awarding ceremonies.

During the recognition program, JMA members assisted in distributing awards, coordinating the flow of the ceremony and ensuring that winners received their certificates and trophies in an organized and timely manner.

JMA President Louise Ann Mallari joined Junior President Rhobie Marie Sabillo, Vice President Jewel Redugerio, Secretary Kathleen Radones, Assistant Secretary Czarina Shane Radones and other assigned members in supporting the activity. Shiela Manga, Aaliyah Aliling and members of the organization’s creative and communications teams also contributed to the event.

Enverga University Foundation, participated in CBA Sportsfest 2026 through its student‑athletes and supporters.

CBA Sportsfest 2026 took place Aug. 12-13 at the MSEUF Twin Court in Lucena City and featured a series of sports competitions that brought together athletes and students from organizations and programs across the College of Business and Accountancy in an onsite format.

AOMS fielded student‑athletes who competed in the scheduled games while fellow members and supporters attended to encourage the teams and boost morale. Participants demonstrated cooperation, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the event.

Beyond competition results, the activity allowed Operations Management students to showcase athletic talents and skills, strengthen teamwork and unity within their program, and create shared experiences outside the classroom.

Strengthening academe participation in public safety and police governance, Dr. Henedina Lagumen, dean of the College of Criminal Justice and Criminology of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, participated as an academe sector representative in the Institutionalization Evaluation Process Performance Audit and Impact Validation of the Lucena City Component Police Station on Aug. 6.

Held at the conference room of Camp BGen Guillermo P. Nakar in Barangay Gulang-Gulang, Lucena City, the evaluation brought together Lucena City Component Police Station personnel led by PLtCol. Ryan Hernandez, chief of police; an audit team from the Philippine National Police Regional Office 4A headed by PCol. Ivy Mallo; members of the Lucena Component City Police Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development; and stakeholders and officers from the Quezon Police Provincial Office led by Provincial Director Romulo Albacea.

As a member of the Police Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development, Dr. Lagumen joined representatives from different community sectors in providing perspectives and insights during the evaluation. Other members included Dr. Mildred “Mitzi” Flores Piad, chairperson representing the socio-civic and nongovernmental organization sector; Rolden Candelaria Garcia, representing the youth sector; and Ptr. Jeffrey Louie Macariola Montevirgen, representing the religious sector.

The evaluation assessed the organizational performance of the Lucena City Component Police Station, validated its accomplishments and breakthrough results, and examined the impact, sustainability and institutionalization of its governance initiatives.

Dr. Lagumen’s participation strengthened the University’s engagement with public-sector institutions in initiatives related to public safety, accountable governance and community-responsive policing. Her involvement also provided an avenue for the academe to contribute perspectives to the continuing assessment of police transformation and development initiatives.

Advancing the University’s international research engagement in sustainable agriculture and technology-based innovation, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), through its College of Engineering (CENG), presented six research studies at the International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture (ICOSA 2026) in Indonesia, via Zoom, Aug. 5.

With the theme “Integrating Innovation, Sustainability, and Resilience for Global Food Security,” ICOSA 2026 brought together researchers and academic institutions to discuss emerging challenges in agriculture, food security, environmental sustainability and agricultural technologies. MSEUF faculty researchers and students presented studies applying engineering, automation, Internet of Things, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and precision agriculture technologies to agricultural concerns.

Student researcher Joshua Constante presented “SoMoLet: An IoT-Based Soil Moisture Control and pH Monitoring System for Precision Lettuce Farming in Controlled Environments,” co-authored by Dr. Ronaldo Maaño, Engr. Roselyn Maaño, Dr. Pedro Jose De Castro and Engr. Emelex Cortez. The study applied IoT-based monitoring and control to precision crop production. Gordon Alpuerto, Christian Jay De Chavez and Sid Paul Ellaso, with Dr. James Louie Meneses, Engr. Ann Christine Maaño and Engr. Rodher Sedeño, also presented “Design and Evaluation of an On-Grid PV Array Powered Sprinkler System for a Greenhouse Nursery at Brgy. Piis, Lucban, Quezon, Philippines,” which explored solar photovoltaic technology for greenhouse irrigation.

Anthony Jr. Biton, Marneil De Los Reyes and Aden Gil Tresvalles, with Dr. Meneses, Engr. Danielle Joseph Buban and Engr. Cielito Maligalig, presented “Design and Development of a Solar-Powered Pelletizer for On-Farm Animal Feed Production from Banana Peels and Coconut Husks.” The study explored the conversion of agricultural residues into animal feed materials using a solar-powered processing system. Paul Alecksandra Palma, Aaron Rene Abanto and Frank David Torpias, with Dr. Meneses, Engr. Ranie Pornela and Dr. Francis Maaño, presented “Design and Development of an Automated Centrifugal Precision Fertilization Device,” which examined automated fertilizer application for more efficient and accurate agricultural operations.

Edgar Dinglasan, John Lloyd Flordeliz and Keymark Sio, with Engr. Hannah Balmes, Engr. Melissa Serrano and Engr. Mark Nel Inojosa, presented “A Design of a Solar-Powered Automated Geothermal Cooling System for Greenhouse Farm.” The research integrated renewable energy and automated cooling technologies for greenhouse environmental control. Completing the presentations, Arnel Chumacera Jr. and Lorenz Roi Ladlad, with Engr. Balmes, Engr. Dhon Niño Canela, Engr. Hannah Shamira Santonil and Engr. Serrano, presented “CocolisapScan: A Deep Learning and Fuzzy Logic-Based Decision Support System for Cocolisap Management in Coconut Farms,” which applied artificial intelligence to support the detection and management of cocolisap infestation.

The international conference provided faculty members and students with an opportunity to present Philippine-based research, exchange knowledge with researchers from other countries and contribute technology-based approaches to discussions on food security and agricultural sustainability.

Through the College of Engineering, MSEUF continues to strengthen collaboration between faculty researchers and students in developing technologies responsive to agricultural and environmental challenges while expanding the University’s participation in international research forums.

The research presentations supported the University’s commitment to research-based knowledge, learning by doing and global competitiveness by engaging faculty members and students in developing and presenting technology-based solutions to real-world agricultural challenges. To orient stakeholders on program highlights and student requirements, the College of Maritime Education (CME) held a general orientation for parents, guardians and students, led by Capt. Wildy Nagares, PhD., and 2E Rio Henson Derecho, MSc MET.

The event was held Aug. 7 at the Basic Education Department covered court and brought together faculty and staff for a meeting with parents and students to discuss key academic and administrative matters.

Presenters reviewed department overviews, the on-board training (OBT) roadmap and key guidelines affecting student matters, explaining schedules, expectations and stakeholder responsibilities.

Faculty and staff answered questions from parents and students and emphasized collaboration between the College, families and learners to support academic progress and readiness for OBT.

Organizers said the orientation aimed to ensure that parents and students understood program requirements and available support services and to foster ongoing communication between the College and its stakeholders.

The orientation supported Manuel S. Strengthening faculty expertise in game development and multimedia computing, Instructor Reimarc Dalay of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies earned his Master in Game Design degree from Asia Pacific College during ceremonies held Aug. 5 at the SMX Convention Center.

Dalay completed the graduate program with the capstone project “Echoes of the Lost: The Horror of War in the Filipino Trenches,” reflecting the application of game design to a Filipino historical and cultural context.

His completion of the specialized graduate degree strengthened his academic and professional preparation in game design, an area closely connected with the evolving fields of interactive media, game development and multimedia computing.

The achievement also contributes to the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies’ continuing faculty development efforts as it prepares students for emerging opportunities and technologies in creative and digital industries.

Dalay is identified in the submitted information as the first faculty member of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation to complete a Master in Game Design degree.

Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa received the Regional Best Job Placement Office plaque on behalf of MSEUF President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Enverga-Leveriza. CSCJPS Head Ma. Isabel Granada also received a plaque recognizing the University’s employment facilitation and career services.

Following the regional recognition, MSEUF will represent CALABARZON in the National Job Placement Office Competition scheduled for October in Cebu City.

The achievement highlighted the University’s efforts to provide responsive career programs that help students and graduates prepare for changing workforce demands and pursue productive employment opportunities.

Promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and physical fitness, the Society of Culture, Arts, and Physical Education (SCAPE), in partnership with Out Play Sports and Events, conducted an Ultimate Frisbee workshop that introduced fundamentals, rules and game simulations to 70 student participants on Aug. 2 at the Covered Court.

The workshop aimed to give SCAPE members practical experience in Ultimate Frisbee while developing technical skills and core values such as discipline, leadership and communication. Sessions combined demonstrations, drills and simulated play to teach the sport’s mechanics and responsibilities.

Participants first learned the sport’s fundamentals, rules and on-field responsibilities before practicing throwing techniques. Instructors covered backhand and forehand/flick throws, emphasizing proper grip, body positioning and throwing mechanics.

Partner and group activities followed the throwing drills, after which participants took part in game simulations that developed offensive and defensive strategies, positioning, communication and decision-making.

The workshop emphasized the Spirit of the Game by promoting honesty, respect and fair play alongside physical fitness and tactical understanding.

Mr. Hermin T. Dimaunahan facilitated the workshop, which was attended by 70 SCAPE members from first year to fourth year.

The virtual seminar gathered mechanical engineering students to explore career pathways and the evolving demands of the engineering industry through discussions led by professionals from different sectors.

The sessions covered heating, ventilation and air conditioning and fire protection systems, artificial intelligence in engineering, the power plant industry and the aviation industry. Participants gained insights into current industry trends, emerging technologies and the competencies needed to pursue careers in these specialized fields.

The program began with opening remarks and the introduction of the guest speakers, followed by morning and afternoon technical sessions. Students interacted with industry practitioners, learned from their professional experiences and broadened their understanding of mechanical engineering practice.

The event concluded with a virtual photo opportunity and the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the invited speakers.

Through the career orientation, participants gained a wider perspective on the opportunities available to mechanical engineers and the importance of continuous learning, professional development and active involvement in engineering organizations.

The Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines–Quezon Student Chapter featured surveying instruments, informative displays and interactive activities at its booth. Members engaged with freshmen and provided an overview of the Geodetic Engineering program and profession.

Through hands-on demonstrations and games, incoming students gained a better understanding of geodetic engineering and the practical applications of surveying equipment. The activity also strengthened the organization’s visibility and connection with current and prospective members.

General Orientation 2026 encouraged freshmen to explore the different opportunities available on campus and become active participants in student organizations and University activities.

It also fostered a sense of belonging that made freshmen feel more prepared and confident as they began their university journey.

Through its participation, the Junior Marketing Association strengthened its commitment to supporting incoming students and promoting an inclusive campus environment that encourages involvement in student organizations and university activities.

AOMS members carried the organization’s official tarpaulin along the route leading to the MSEUF Gymnasium, representing the Operations Management program alongside other student groups. The College of Business and Accountancy Department Student Council provided the tarpaulin used during the event.

The Freshmen Walk also allowed AOMS members to interact with other student organizations under the college. Their participation highlighted camaraderie and cooperation among student leaders while helping create a welcoming environment for the University’s newest students.

Through the activity, AOMS strengthened its connection with prospective members and encouraged incoming Operations Management students to participate in future organizational programs. Officers also discussed the organization’s Constitution and Bylaws, including its vision, mission, core values, goals, objectives and key policies. The session emphasized leadership, professionalism, teamwork and service as principles that members should uphold through active participation.

The orientation highlighted the achievements of PIIE members and alumni and presented the organization’s proposed activities for the academic year. These included a site visit designed to provide students with exposure to industrial settings and professional practices.

Members also learned about certifications available to industrial engineering students, including the Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Supply Chain Management Foundation Certification and Project Management Foundation Certification. The discussion encouraged students to pursue continuous learning and professional development while completing their undergraduate studies.

During an interactive activity, the Therbligs introduced themselves in groups of three and presented talents through singing, dancing and acting. The activity created a welcoming environment, strengthened camaraderie and helped members build confidence and new connections.

The program concluded with a group photo of the officers and Therbligs, marking the beginning of a new academic year and encouraging the organization’s newest members to contribute actively to the growth of the student chapter.

Throughout the weeklong program, aspiring members completed activities and tasks facilitated by the organization’s officers and members. Process Week also allowed the aspirants to build camaraderie with current members and experience the culture of the CAS Social Sciences Society. Through their participation, they learned about the responsibilities and expectations of becoming active members of the organization.

The program concluded July 31 with the Acceptance Stage, during which the aspirants presented project proposals as their final requirement. Their proposals demonstrated creativity, collaboration and commitment to developing initiatives that could support the organization and its future programs.

All 20 aspirants completed the membership process and officially joined the CAS Social Sciences Society. Their acceptance strengthened the organization’s capacity to implement programs and activities throughout the academic year.

Through Process Week 2026, the organization continued its efforts to develop competent, dedicated and service-oriented students prepared to contribute to the Social Sciences community.

The Office of Student Affairs and Services organized the annual event to welcome incoming freshmen and introduce them to the University’s recognized student organizations.

The CAS Social Sciences Society established an interactive booth in front of the University Gym to present its mission, programs and activities while creating a welcoming space for freshmen and other members of the University community.

The booth featured interactive games, with ballpens, stickers and candies awarded as prizes. The organization also sold Spam musubi, graham balls and handmade fuzzy-wire keychains to engage visitors and support its initiatives.

Throughout the activity, the booth provided opportunities for officers and members to interact with prospective members. Through games and conversations, CAS SSS encouraged incoming students to explore opportunities for leadership, service and personal development within the organization.

The activity also strengthened the teamwork, communication and leadership skills of the organization’s officers and members. By creating an engaging environment, CAS SSS helped foster a sense of belonging among freshmen and encouraged them to become active members of the Social Sciences community.

Promoting leadership, volunteerism and community engagement among incoming students, the Enverga University Student Nurses Association welcomed freshmen through an interactive booth during University General Orientation 2026 on July 31 at the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Gymnasium.

EUSNA officers and volunteers introduced students to the association’s programs, advocacies and membership opportunities. They answered inquiries, explained the benefits of joining the organization, distributed informational brochures and displayed EUSNA merchandise and school supplies.

The booth also featured the Funny Fortune Teller, an interactive activity first introduced during the OSALubong program. EUSNA brought back the activity following its positive reception, providing freshmen with a fun and memorable way to engage with the organization’s representatives.

Through direct conversations, officers and volunteers encouraged students to explore opportunities for leadership, service, professional development and active participation in campus life. The interactions also helped create an inclusive environment where freshmen could build connections and feel welcomed into the University community.

Members interviewed several incoming freshmen to learn about their interests and perspectives. Through these conversations, PSS encouraged students to take initiative, explore leadership opportunities and participate in activities that support their personal and academic development.

The session included a detailed discussion of the Permit to Conduct Activity and Request for Venue process. Mr. Lagman explained the required information, submission procedures and timelines to help student organizations prepare activity proposals that comply with University requirements.

Ms. Salas facilitated a planning workshop that highlighted how well-developed plans provide clear direction, promote efficient resource use, manage risks, improve team coordination and support adaptability. She also discussed situation analysis, SWOT analysis, stakeholder analysis, resource and time management, risk management, collaboration, communication, monitoring and evaluation, reflection and learning, and the integration of ethics and sustainability.

The workshop strengthened participants’ knowledge of organizational planning, project management and leadership. It also improved their understanding of University documentation processes and equipped them to design, implement and assess purposeful, sustainable and goal-oriented projects that support their organizations and the wider University community.

BJP Elite Academy Director Jean Pierre Berrie and faculty member Alexandre Mongkorn Berrie visited the University as part of the institutions’ continuing partnership. The program opened at the AEC Little Theatre with performances by the Basic Education Department Lyre Band, MSEUF Concert Singers, Banyuhay Dance Troupe and Tanglaw Dance Troupe, highlighting Filipino arts, talent and cultural traditions.

Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa and Acting Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala delivered welcome messages. BJP Elite Academy Head Teacher Kristine Moore and Alexandre Berrie expressed their appreciation for the University’s hospitality and emphasized the importance of strengthening international partnerships through education, sports and cultural exchange.

In the afternoon, the MSEUF Taekwondo Team joined a kickboxing demonstration and clinic led by Berrie, a faculty member and Asian kickboxing champion. Students, parents and members of the University community observed kickboxing techniques and learned about training practices that promoted discipline, sportsmanship and cross-cultural learning.

On the second day, the visitors explored Quezon Province’s cultural heritage at Villa Escudero. Basic Education Department Principal Reina Pasumbal, Assistant Principal Romel Hiloma and Dr. Jennifer Reyes of the Office of Global Engagement and Linkages accompanied the delegation as they experienced Filipino traditions and local history.

The visit strengthened the collaboration between MSEUF and BJP Elite Academy in academic cooperation, cultural exchange and sports development. It also provided participants with global learning experiences that promoted friendship, cultural understanding and excellence in education.

The exchange supported the University’s vision of global competitiveness by providing opportunities for international engagement, cultural learning and sports development. One of the workshop's key discussions focused on the Permit to Conduct Activity and Request for Venue (PCARV) process. The session emphasized the importance of preparing a properly accomplished PCARV for every organizational activity to ensure compliance with University policies, facilitate coordination, and support the smooth implementation of programs. The discussion provided AOMS officers with guidance for organizing future academic, leadership, and community engagement initiatives.

The workshop also highlighted the value of developing a comprehensive Plan of Activities. AOMS officers learned the importance of setting defined objectives, preparing realistic budgets, identifying fundraising strategies, and creating contingency plans to minimize risks and maintain continuity when unexpected situations arise. These planning practices support the organization's commitment to delivering organized and meaningful programs for Operations Management students.

Another key learning centered on the use of SWOT Analysis as a strategic planning tool. By identifying organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, AOMS can better evaluate proposed projects and align future initiatives with its mission of developing competent, innovative, and service-oriented Operations Management students.

In addition, the workshop introduced practical planning techniques, sample organizational activities, and the importance of conducting post-activity evaluations. Assessing completed programs and gathering participant feedback will help AOMS identify areas for improvement, measure the effectiveness of its initiatives, and continuously enhance the quality of future projects and services for its members.

Through its participation in the LEAPS Planning Workshop, AOMS reinforced its commitment to excellence in organizational leadership and operations. The knowledge and strategies gained during the assembly will serve as a foundation for future academic, leadership, and community engagement programs that provide meaningful learning opportunities for Operations Management students.

Beyond attending the sessions, SFMS members assisted in preparing the venue by arranging tables and chairs before the program and restoring the area after the activity. They also managed the attendance desk, assisted participants during registration and ensured the proper documentation of attendance records.

The volunteers distributed meals provided by the University Collegiate Student Council. Two SFMS members also served as masters of ceremonies, welcoming participants, introducing speakers, announcing the program segments and maintaining the orderly flow of the workshop.

Through their participation, the organization’s representatives gained practical insights into leadership and organizational planning. Their volunteer service also contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the student leaders assembly.

The workshop aimed to develop participants’ knowledge and practical first aid skills while preparing student volunteers for the upcoming College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Sportsfest and University Intramurals.

FO3 Richard Escritor, MSN, RN, served as the resource speaker and trainer. He discussed first aid principles, musculoskeletal injury assessment, patient safety, appropriate immobilization and timely interventions to prevent further injury during emergencies.

The morning session included lectures and demonstrations on proper bandaging and splinting techniques commonly used in emergency care. Participants then completed supervised return demonstrations and received immediate feedback and guidance from the trainer.

The afternoon session followed the same lecture, demonstration and return-demonstration format for another group of participants. The activity primarily served second-year nursing students preparing to begin clinical duties, while EUSNA officers and selected third- and fourth-year students also participated.

The program concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to FO3 Escritor. Through the workshop, EUSNA expanded its pool of trained first aid volunteers while strengthening participants’ teamwork, communication, clinical competence and emergency response skills.

The Philippine GameDev Expo, or PGDX, serves as a national platform for the game development community, bringing together developers, publishers, creators, industry professionals and gaming enthusiasts. Its 2026 Manila edition featured game and product showcases, community gatherings, business-to-business and business-to-consumer opportunities, workshops and conference activities.

Dalay’s participation provided an opportunity for professional exposure to developments in the Philippine and international gaming landscape, including emerging practices in game creation, publishing and the broader interactive entertainment industry.

The event also provided a venue for learning from practitioners and observing current trends, technologies and creative approaches relevant to game development and multimedia computing. PGDX highlights both local and international game development while providing opportunities for industry engagement and knowledge exchange.

Dalay’s participation complemented his specialization in game design and his role in preparing students for the evolving fields of game development, interactive media and multimedia computing.

The one-day onboarding program introduced participants to Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation's culture, policies, programs, and strategic priorities as they officially began their journey with the University.

The program opened with welcome messages from Atty. Dario Opistan, acting senior vice president and vice president for administration; Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for academics and research and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Mr. Carlito Rodriguez, vice president for finance and treasurer; and Mr. Celso Jaballa, vice president for external relations.

The University leaders welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of living the University's core values, maintaining professionalism, fostering collaboration, delivering service excellence, and remaining committed to the institution's mission, vision, and goals.

Throughout the orientation, participants attended sessions led by University officials and department heads, including Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages; Ms. Leah Salas, head of the Center for Institutional Planning and Quality Assurance; Mr. John Rover Sinag, head of the Center for Marketing Innovation and Digital Engagement; Engr. Katrina Ruth Avillo, data protection officer; Mr. Arby Lagman, head of the Sustainability Department; Dr. Milagrosa Lawas, head of Community Extension Services; and Dr. Maria Sylvia Avila, head of the Human Resource Department.

The sessions provided participants with essential information on international engagement, institutional planning and quality assurance, marketing and digital engagement, data privacy, sustainability initiatives, community extension services, and human resource policies. The orientation equipped new members of the MSEUF community with the knowledge and resources needed to perform their roles effectively while fostering a strong sense of belonging and commitment to the University's core values.

The Human Resource Department organized the institutional orientation for newly hired personnel of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation. Asst. Prof. Sinag led the session “Living the MSEUF Brand: Upholding Our Identity, Culture, and Core Values,” which focused on how faculty members and employees contribute to the University’s reputation through their everyday interactions and responsibilities.

Asst. Prof. Sinag emphasized that the MSEUF brand extends beyond visual identity and promotional campaigns, describing it as a promise that the University fulfills through the experiences it provides to its stakeholders.

“The MSEUF brand is also a promise,” Sinag said. “For students, it is a promise of meaningful and future-ready education. For parents and families, it is a promise of trust, care and responsible guidance. For alumni, it is a name that they can continue to carry with pride.”

He explained that faculty members strengthen the University’s culture by preparing intentionally, teaching clearly and fairly, providing constructive feedback and modeling responsible practice. For employees, he emphasized accuracy, respectful communication, clear processes, proper coordination and ownership of concerns.

“For everyone, the standard is simple: Be professional. Be human. Be accountable,” Sinag said. “Because culture is simply what our values look like when no one is reading the handbook.”

The session concluded by reminding participants that the University’s brand takes shape through how its people teach, communicate, respond to concerns, solve problems and treat others. Sinag encouraged the new faculty members and employees to carry the MSEUF identity with excellence and integrity while strengthening it collectively through their daily work.

To discuss educational opportunities for Mauban residents and potential initiatives that strengthen their shared commitment to education and heritage preservation, Mauban, Quezon Mayor Erwin “Ninong” Pastrana visited Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Chairman of the Board/CEO Wilfrido L. Enverga at the Wildcats Lounge, July 23. 

The courtesy visit centered on the proposed LGU Mauban Scholarship Grant, which aims to provide qualified Maubanins with opportunities to pursue legal education at Enverga Law School.

The discussion also highlighted the successful implementation of the LGU Mauban Scholarship Grant for 10 government employees who have started their studies this school year through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

Mayor Pastrana and Chairman Enverga also explored plans for the proposed Mauban Museum, which will honor the legacy of the late Dr. Manuel S. Enverga Sr., a native of Mauban and the founder of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation in Lucena City and MSE Memorial School of Arts and Trade in Mauban, Quezon.

The proposed museum aims to preserve the history and contributions of Dr. Enverga while serving as a cultural and educational landmark for future generations.

The meeting reflects the continuing collaboration between LGU Mauban and Enverga University in developing initiatives that expand access to education and promote the preservation of local heritage.

Advancing innovation, entrepreneurship and business development, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation and the Department of Trade and Industry–Quezon Provincial Office signed a memorandum of understanding on July 23 at the College of Engineering Conference Room.

The Research Publication, Incubation and Utilization Center represented the University in establishing the partnership, which will support business incubation, startup development, entrepreneurship and capability-building programs.

Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for academics and research, delivered the welcome remarks, while Julieta Tadiosa, provincial director of DTI Quezon, shared a message during the ceremony.

Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa and Dr. Ayala signed the agreement on behalf of the University, while Tadiosa represented DTI Quezon. Linksports Inc. is recognized for its expertise in sports facility construction and rehabilitation, including its work on the rehabilitation of the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym. Expanding industry-based learning opportunities for Hospitality Management students, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation marked the soft opening and blessing of CAFE 1947, The Manor, its official laboratory café, at the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management Building on July 23.

Enverga University Chairman and CEO Wilfrido Enverga and President and COO Naila Leveriza led the ceremony with University officials, faculty members, staff and guests.

CAFE 1947 will allow Hospitality Management students to apply classroom knowledge through hands-on training in food and beverage operations, customer service, café management and entrepreneurship. Designed to simulate industry standards, the facility will provide practical experiences that complement academic instruction and prepare students for hospitality careers.

The laboratory café will operate as a public-facing training facility from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Serving actual customers will help students strengthen their technical skills, professionalism and customer service competencies in an authentic hospitality setting.

Messages of support followed from Celso Jaballa, vice president for External Relations, and Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for Academics and Research. Both officials highlighted the importance of preparing graduates for employment through quality education, strong industry partnerships, and career development initiatives that respond to the evolving demands of the labor market.

Representatives from national government agencies also shared insights during the program. Dr. Cristina Barayang, provincial head of the Department of Labor and Employment–Quezon Provincial Office, and Paola Ruth Zapanta, senior labor and employment officer of the Department of Migrant Workers, discussed current labor market trends, employer expectations, and the value of sustained collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in preparing graduates for meaningful careers.

Beyond employment opportunities, participants also accessed essential government services during the event. Representatives from Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, and the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) assisted job seekers by providing frontline services and information. The Wadhwani Foundation, an international nonprofit organization focused on workforce development, also conducted AI-powered mock interviews to help participants strengthen their interview skills and build confidence before meeting prospective employers.

The Career Bonanza Job Fair featured 12 private companies, three government agencies, and one career development partner representing a broad range of industries and employment sectors. A total of 202 job seekers participated in the event.

Organization officers and members installed the "Welcome, Envergans!" banner at the Gate 4 entrance to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for students entering the university. The display aimed to promote campus spirit and encourage student engagement at the start of the academic year.

The Natural Sciences Society funded the project through its internal funds, allocating P560 for the production and installation of the welcome banner.

Crispino Portes and C/E Rodolfo Mariscotes, hosted an ocular visit by 88 Aces Maritime Services Inc. at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), July 17.

The onsite visit at the College of Maritime Education (CME) brought representatives from 88 Aces Maritime Services Inc. to the University to assess facilities and discuss opportunities for cooperation aimed at enhancing maritime training and career pathways for students.

The visit served as a significant step toward future collaborations between the company and the University, focusing on strengthening industry-academe partnerships for the future of maritime education.

University and company participants toured relevant campus facilities and exchanged preliminary plans for possible joint activities, training opportunities and other cooperative initiatives to support student readiness for the maritime sector.

Organized annually by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) in partnership with the University Collegiate Student Council and accredited student organizations, MSEUF Osalubong serves as the University's official welcome program for new students. During the activity, CEE introduced opportunities for students to develop their communication, leadership, and literary skills while encouraging them to become active members of the organization.

CEE members joined fellow student organizations from the College of Education in decorating the pathway along Banyuhay Bridge with colorful banderitas, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for the University's newest Envergans.

Through its participation in MSEUF Osalubong 2025, the Council of English Enthusiasts reaffirmed its commitment to promoting student engagement and helping freshmen transition into university life. The activity also highlighted the organization's role in fostering an inclusive and supportive campus community from the beginning of each student's academic journey.

Twenty-five EUSNA officers and volunteer members managed the organization’s Information Desk, where they responded to students’ inquiries about classroom assignments, schedules and other campus-related concerns. Volunteers also accompanied freshmen to their assigned classrooms and provided brief campus tours to help them navigate the university.

To make the activity more engaging, EUSNA prepared interactive activities, including the Human Slot Machine and Funny Fortune Teller, which encouraged participation and helped create a comfortable atmosphere for new students. Freshmen also received giveaway items and school supplies, including pins, stickers, keychains, ballpoint pens, correction tapes, tickler notebooks and sheets of paper.

EUSNA assigned volunteers according to their strengths to ensure efficient service throughout the event. Officers supervised the activity, while volunteers welcomed students, answered questions and assisted them around the campus.

“The start of the freshmen's nursing profession should be greeted with delight and warmth that the nursing community can give,” said John Charles Devela, EUSNA president.

The activity strengthened connections between freshmen and higher-year nursing students by promoting mentorship, cooperation and a sense of belonging within the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. Members also participated in an orientation on the organization's membership process, qualifications, requirements, responsibilities, and application procedures based on the provisions of its Constitution and By-Laws. The discussion emphasized the importance of active participation, accountability, and commitment throughout the academic year.

The assembly formally introduced the officers and committees for Academic Year 2026–2027 to familiarize members with the organization's leadership structure and committee functions. Several vacant positions were also filled through nominations, volunteer applications, and appointments to further strengthen the organization.

During the afternoon session, officers presented EUSNA's upcoming activities, including the CNAHS Orientation, Freshmen Walk, CNAHS Sportsfest, and Nurses' Day Celebration. Members also approved a ₱50 membership fee per semester through a majority vote following the discussion of the organization's recruitment process.

To conclude the assembly, officers initiated the first review of the organization's Constitution and By-Laws by examining existing provisions, clarifying the duties and responsibilities of officers, and presenting proposed amendments for further deliberation.

Pi Day, observed annually on March 14 and represented by the mathematical constant 3.14, has been recognized since the 1980s as an informal celebration of mathematics. The occasion is widely observed by mathematics enthusiasts through activities centered on the concept of pi and related educational events.

For this year's celebration, the Mathematics Society organized four main activities: the Math Wizard Quest, Online Quiz Contest, Pi Art Contest, and Meme-Making Contest.

To support the event, the Mathematics Society invited AGHAM to serve as facilitators for the Math Quest, allowing the Wizards to fully participate in the activities. Participants were grouped into teams and challenged to complete five stations featuring different puzzle-solving activities. The team that finished all stations in the shortest time emerged as the winner.

Although AGHAM served in a supporting role, its participation contributed to strengthening collaboration between student organizations in the College of Education. The activity also reinforced their shared commitment to promoting academic excellence and fostering a passion for education.

Frederick Salonga, RN, delivered the second session on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). He discussed current statistics, common misconceptions, modes of transmission, and preventive measures through safe sexual practices. He also explained how HIV is managed and highlighted government initiatives that support individuals living with HIV.

The afternoon session offered free HIV testing for participants as part of the activity's health awareness initiative.

The seminar strengthened participants' awareness of their rights and responsibilities in protecting their sexual health and safety in both online and offline environments while promoting informed decision-making and responsible health practices.

Through a ceremonial contract signing with Linksports Inc. for the University Gymnasium’s Bleachers and Court Renovation Project at the Executive Office Board Room, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation advanced its campus development initiatives, July 13. 

The project was officially awarded to Linksports Inc., represented by its President and Owner, Jojo Eugenio. The ceremonial signing was attended by Chairman/CEO Wilfrido L. Enverga and President/COO Naila E. Leveriza.

Linksports Inc. brings expertise in sports facility construction and rehabilitation, including its involvement in the rehabilitation of the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym. Through the partnership, the University Gymnasium will undergo improvements focused on upgrading the bleachers and rehabilitating the playing court.

The renovated facility is expected to provide a safer and more functional venue for athletic competitions, physical education classes, university programs, and other major institutional activities.

Enverga Mauban controlled the game from the opening quarter, setting the pace through coordinated offensive plays and disciplined defense. The team's consistent execution on both ends of the court limited the Blaze Titans' scoring opportunities while steadily extending its lead throughout the match.

The convincing performance resulted in an 86–47 win, giving Enverga Mauban its first victory in the tournament and an encouraging start to its campaign.

According to Bagong Bayan Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Lawrence Jugueta, the tournament aims to strengthen sports development among athletes and encourage greater participation in sports among the youth of Mauban. The opening game generated enthusiasm among players, supporters, and community members as the competition officially got underway.

The Newtown Basketball League continues to provide local athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, compete in an organized setting, and promote camaraderie through sports.

Contributing to Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation’s research output and international academic engagement, Asst. Prof. John Rover Sinag, head of the Center for Marketing Innovation and Digital Engagement, presented three research papers at the IEEE International Conference on Emerging Trends in Information, Communication & Systems (ICETICS 2026) held July 10-11 in hybrid mode in Bhopal, India.

ICETICS 2026 brought together researchers, developers, practitioners and educators working in computational intelligence, information systems and communication networks. The conference provided a venue for cross-disciplinary discussions on emerging challenges, intelligent solutions and opportunities for research collaboration.

Asst. Prof. Sinag presented “A Human-Centered Design Framework for Understanding FoMO in Social Media Use,” co-authored with Gino Cabrera of Southern Luzon State University. The study explored a human-centered design perspective in understanding fear of missing out, or FoMO, in the context of social media use.

He also presented “A Capability–Compliance–Sustainability Framework for Future Multimedia Design Ecosystems.” The paper represented his research work under the School of Graduate Studies of Mapua University as one of his PhD papers, where he examined a framework integrating capability, compliance and sustainability in future multimedia design environments.

Completing the three presentations was “Bias-Aware Systematic Review of AI-Based Mental Health Detection Using Social Media: A PRISMA and PROBAST(+AI) Analysis,” co-authored with Janela Reis Babaran-Sinag of the College of Arts and Sciences. The study reviewed artificial intelligence-based approaches to detecting mental health conditions using social media data while examining potential bias through established systematic review and assessment frameworks.

The research presentations expanded the University’s participation in international academic forums while highlighting multidisciplinary work involving social media, artificial intelligence, mental health and multimedia design. The collaborations also connected MSEUF researchers with academic partners beyond the University.

Representing Basic Education Department Principal Reina Pasumbal, Andrea Nicole Saberola opened the program with welcoming remarks during the morning session. Gianne Pagana then facilitated a socialization activity and icebreaker to encourage interaction among participants.

Charmaine San Miguel led the formal orientation, introducing the club advisers and presenting the objectives of the BTS Club. Members also actively participated in the election of club officers.

The afternoon session resumed at 1 p.m. with Pagana discussing the roles and responsibilities of BTS Club members. The discussion transitioned into capability-building activities and practical training designed to prepare students for their responsibilities as peer supporters.

Guided by BEd guidance counselor Andrea Nicole Saberola, participants attended a lecture on becoming effective helpers. Students reinforced the concepts through consecutive interactive group activities that allowed them to apply what they learned in practical situations.

Rey Marco Casiño concluded the program with closing remarks, marking the end of the day's orientation and training.

Enverga University Foundation presented their studies at the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Nexus of Data and Information Technology (ICANDIT 2026) held July 7-8 at Nusa Putra University in Sukabumi, Indonesia.

ICANDIT 2026 focused on innovation, collaboration and sustainability in data science, artificial intelligence and information technology. The conference brought together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers and students to exchange knowledge on digital transformation and technology-driven responses to global challenges.

Representing MSEUF were Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages; Engr. The College of Computing and Multimedia Studies conducted a Program Advisory Board Seminar-Workshop and Curriculum Review on July 9 at the CCMS Innovation Laboratory, bringing together faculty members, students, alumni and industry partners to recommend improvements to its computing programs.

CCMS Dean Rodrigo Belleza led the discussion and guided participants in reviewing the curricula of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing programs.

Participants shared insights on the competencies, course content and learning experiences that CCMS could strengthen or include in the curricula. The discussions focused on ensuring that the programs remain responsive to developments in the information technology and multimedia industries and the changing needs of employers.

Industry representatives included Rod Julius Zamora of OpenIT, Darwin Kim Bulawan of Aboitiz Data Innovation, Argel De Mesa of Impact Technology Resources, Genrey Gabriel Rodriguez of Cloud Employee Ltd. and Aeres Joy Azores of DCExcel.

The ceremony took place July 7 at the Event Center of Nusa Putra University in Sukabumi, Indonesia. Dr. Jennifer Reyes, head of Global Engagement and Linkages, represented MSEUF, while Dr. H. Kurniawan, rector of Nusa Putra University, represented the Indonesian institution.

The partnership established the institutions’ shared commitment to collaborative research, faculty and student exchange programs, innovation and cross-cultural learning opportunities. During the ceremony, Dr. Reyes distributed EUFLIGHT program brochures to Nusa Putra University representatives. The materials will serve as a reference for the institutions’ upcoming mobility program and its academic exchange and international engagement opportunities.

As part of its participation, CEE provided the official event tarpaulin, which served as the workshop's backdrop, and assisted in coordinating the activity. “This initiative supports our learners’ pursuit of industry-recognized credentials that validate their knowledge in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, networking, and IT support, while strengthening our efforts to prepare them for competitive careers in the fast-changing technology sector,” Dean Belleza said.

The commencement ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of the graduating class and recognized their years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to completing their respective programs. Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rexlon Gatchalian served as the commencement speaker. He was welcomed by Chairman of the Board and CEO Wilfrido Enverga and President and COO Naila Leveriza.

In his address, Secretary Gatchalian encouraged the graduates to lead with integrity, resilience, and a commitment to serving their communities as they begin the next chapter of their professional lives.

Before his appointment as DSWD secretary, Gatchalian served as mayor of Valenzuela City, where he advanced the "Five Pillars of Governance" by prioritizing programs and services in education, health and social services, housing, employment generation, and trade and industry. He later represented the 1st District of Valenzuela in the House of Representatives and chaired the Committee on Local Government during the 19th Congress.

The ceremony was also attended by Quezon First District Rep. Mark Enverga, whose presence underscored the importance of supporting higher education and recognizing the accomplishments of Enverga University's newest graduates as they prepare to enter their chosen professions.

The College of Computing and Multimedia Studies will mark another historic milestone at Enverga University’s 79th Commencement Exercises, Cluster 2, on July 3 as it presents the highest number of Latin honor graduates in CCMS history, led by all five summa cum laude awardees of the University.

The college will celebrate 15 Proud Cyber Envergan Academic Awardees, composed of five summa cum laude, seven magna cum laude and three cum laude graduates from its computer science, information technology and entertainment and multimedia computing programs.

This year’s summa cum laude awardees are Princess Nicole Oriola, Peter Angelo Dantes and Lance Alexander Ventura from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program with specialization in data science; and Marcus Lester Combalecer and Asher Gabriel Pantoja from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program with specialization in web and mobile application.

Combalecer also received the Excellence in IT Capstone Project award.

The magna cum laude awardees are Nicole S. Enriquez and Voltaire Parraba Jr. from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program with specialization in web and mobile application; John Leo Echevaria, Matthew Adelbert Oblea, Rainzle John Estuesta and Johann Sebastiane Catalla from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program with specialization in data science; and Meireen Cumahig from the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing program with specialization in digital animation technology.

Cumahig also received the Excellence in EMC Capstone Project award, while Catalla received the Excellence in Computer Science Research award.

The cum laude graduates are Ian M. Ling and Laurence John Z. Vendiola from the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program with specialization in data science; and Vinz Henry C. Rubio from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program with specialization in web and mobile application. Rubio also received the Loyalty Award.

The historic achievement placed CCMS in a strong position during this year’s commencement season, showing the college’s growing culture of academic excellence, innovation and future-ready learning.

Strengthening faculty expertise in systems and software development, two faculty members of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies completed their Master in Information Technology degrees during the 79th Commencement Exercises of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, July 1.

Charles Ethan Chua completed the Master in Information Technology with specialization in System Development. His capstone, “An NMF-Based Graduate Tracer System for Employment Insights and Skills Analysis,” applied technology and research to generate employment and skills insights that can support data-driven decision-making in education and career development.

Alexander Maralit II completed the Master in Information Technology with specialization in Software Development. His capstone, “A Non-Invasive Cattle Identification Using Muzzle Pattern Recognition in Livestock Management,” explored the use of software development and intelligent systems for cattle identification and livestock management.

The completion of their graduate degrees strengthened the faculty members’ academic and technical preparation while demonstrating the application of information technology to practical concerns in education, career development, agriculture and livestock management.

Through their graduate research, Chua and Maralit contributed technology-based approaches that connect advanced computing knowledge with real-world applications in their respective areas of study.

MSEUF improved by 158 places from its 768th-place ranking in 2025. The result highlighted the University’s efforts to integrate environmental stewardship, sustainable campus operations and institutional accountability into its programs and services.

The UI GreenMetric Committee worked with offices across the University to gather, validate and consolidate institutional data based on the ranking’s seven assessment indicators. University President Naila Leveriza and Executive Vice President Dr. Benilda Villenas led the initiative, while Vice President Celso Jaballa, committee chairperson, provided strategic direction, policy guidance, supervision and final approval of the consolidated reports and submission.

Director Arby Lagman, co-chairperson for sustainability, coordinated sustainability initiatives, data gathering, indicator compliance and documentation of waste management programs and policies. Dr. Jennifer Reyes, co-chairperson for internationalization, documented international partnerships and global engagement initiatives while overseeing reports on sustainability, governance, budget documentation and digitalization.

Director Leah Salas consolidated and validated reports on setting and infrastructure, including campus facilities, open spaces and sustainability-supportive environments. Engr. Renato Vergara and Engr. Ronaldo Maaño handled documentation for water conservation, while Engr. Ariel Nicolas prepared reports on energy efficiency, renewable energy, greenhouse gas reduction and climate action.

Vice President Carlito Rodriguez led the transportation indicator by documenting sustainable transportation systems, pedestrian facilities, traffic management practices and carbon-reduction initiatives. Engr. Roselyn Maaño and Dean Rodrigo Belleza consolidated reports on sustainability-focused instruction, research, extension programs, publications, conferences and other academic initiatives under the education and research indicator.

Director John Rover Sinag managed the digital submission, maintained the University’s sustainability webpage and presented institutional initiatives through the Sustainability Report and online platforms. Director Mark Gaylord Genovaña organized institutional records and documented meetings and related activities, while the Information and Communications Technology Department, Human Resource Development Office and Registrar’s Office supported the completion of the submission.

As MSEUF prepares for the 2027 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, the University will continue to strengthen its sustainability initiatives, institutional collaboration and environmental accountability. Its progress reflects the collective efforts of administrators, faculty members, employees and partner offices working toward a more sustainable and globally competitive institution.

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation and the Philippine Coast Guard formalized a partnership on June 22, 2026, at the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog headquarters in Batangas City to strengthen the university’s National Service Training Program-Civic Welfare Training Service and youth development initiatives for the College of Maritime Education.

The agreement, anchored in Republic Act 9163, or the NSTP Act of 2001, and Republic Act 9993, or the Philippine Coast Guard Law of 2009, aims to promote disaster risk reduction and management, marine environmental protection, leadership development and community service among students.

The ceremony opened with an invocation led by Lt. Fr. Alejo Serrano of the Philippine Coast Guard, followed by the welcome remarks of Capt. Airland Lapitan, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and government agencies in developing responsible and service-oriented citizens.

Representing MSEUF President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Enverga-Leveriza, Celso Jaballa, vice president for external relations, signed the agreement with Capt. Crispino Portes, associate dean of the College of Maritime Education. Representing the Philippine Coast Guard were Commodore Feronimo Tuvilla, district commander of Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog, and Lapitan.

In his message, Jaballa described the partnership as more than a ceremonial agreement. He said it reflected a shared commitment to develop young Filipinos who are physically fit, morally upright, spiritually grounded, intellectually competent, socially responsible and committed to nation-building.

Tuvilla shared his personal connection with MSEUF, recalling his visits to the university during his college years at De La Salle University-Dasmarinas as a taekwondo athlete representing Cavite Province in the Regional PRISAA competitions.

“Being able to compete and win at the regional PRISAA held at Enverga University year after year was an honor and a privilege. It remains one of the unforgettable highlights of my youth,” Tuvilla said.

He also highlighted the Philippine Coast Guard’s training practices for young people and future leaders. He said PCG training programs help trainees reach their full potential by instilling discipline, resilience, teamwork, integrity and a strong sense of public service.

Tuvilla said the Coast Guard’s training philosophy goes beyond physical preparedness. It also develops mental toughness, critical decision-making, leadership under pressure, environmental stewardship and readiness to respond during emergencies and disasters.

He expressed optimism that the partnership with MSEUF would provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn the principles of service, patriotism, environmental protection and disaster preparedness.

Before the program, Jaballa and Portes received military honors upon their arrival at the Coast Guard facility. After the signing ceremony, the Philippine Coast Guard hosted a fellowship luncheon for the guests and participants.

University officials expressed confidence that the partnership will provide valuable learning experiences for students while strengthening community engagement and nation-building efforts.

The opening ceremony included a solemn blessing officiated by Rev. Fr. Marcelo Cabarrubias, parish priest of San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila Parish in Polo. During the ceremony, Fr. Cabarrubias highlighted the importance of extending educational opportunities and values-based learning to the people of Mauban.

Following the blessing and short program, university officials conducted an orientation for athlete-scholars and their parents. The session discussed the benefits, expectations, and responsibilities of representing the institution as ambassadors of Enverga University.

The Mauban school will offer the Junior High School Program for Grades 7 to 10, the Senior High School Program for Grade 11 under the Blended Learning Program of MSEUF Main Campus, and tertiary programs in Psychology, Tourism, and Information Technology.

Enrollment is ongoing for all programs, with classes scheduled to begin on July 13, 2026.

Prior to the signing ceremony, representatives from both institutions engaged in a productive discussions exploring potential areas of collaboration. Leading the DMW delegation was Regional Director Atty. April Casabuena, who shared the agency’s mandate and organizational background. She explained that the DMW was established following the reorganization of government services for overseas Filipino workers and now serves as a one-stop agency that consolidates various functions related to migrant workers, including welfare protection, legal assistance, skills development, and reintegration programs.

During the meeting, Atty. Casabuena encouraged MSEUF’s maritime students and graduates to participate in the Likhang Marino Business Plan Competition, a program designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs in the maritime sector. The competition provides participants with mentoring and coaching opportunities, while winning entries may receive seed capital assistance and cash prizes of up to PHP 50,000.00.

Among the key initiatives agreed upon under partnership are the conduct of Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIR-TIP) Seminars for graduating students and the establishment of a Children of OFWs Organization within the University. The AIR-TIP seminars will be coordinated through the Office of Scholarship and Endowment, Job Placement and Alumni Relations, while the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) will oversee the formation and management of the Children of OFWs Organization. The organization is envisioned to serve as a platform for capability-building activities, psychosocial support, counselling services, and other programs beneficial to its members in coordination with the DMW.

The Office of Student Affairs and Services organized a Mass and wreath-laying ceremony on at the University Gymnasium and Founder’s Monument to commemorate the 45th death anniversary of Dr. Manuel Enverga Sr., the founding father of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, June 15.

Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Maaño, University chaplain, led the Mass attended by students, employees and faculty members who gathered to honor the life, service and enduring legacy of the university founder.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Maaño likened Founder’s vision to the mabolo fruit, whose seeds grow and bear life for others.

“Just like the mabolo fruit, our founder’s thoughts, plans and desires have made a lot of Quezonians happy and fulfilled,” Maano said.

He added that Enverga’s work continued to grow like a massive tree, producing generations of learners, professionals and servant leaders who carry the founder’s vision in their communities.

Naila Leveriza and her husband, Dennis Leveriza, joined the Envergan community in the commemorative activity. Students, faculty members and employees also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Founder’s Monument as a gesture of remembrance and gratitude.

The Municipality of San Antonio, Quezon honored the late Dr. Manuel S. Enverga through the unveiling of his monument on June 12 during the flag-raising ceremony for the 128th Philippine Independence Day.

Globe Telecom and Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation forged a partnership to establish Lucena City’s first on-campus cell site at MSEUF, strengthening digital connectivity, technology-driven learning and academic-industry collaboration.

The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of agreement allowing Globe to construct a cell site within the university campus. The facility is expected to improve mobile and internet connectivity for students, faculty members, employees and nearby communities.

Globe said the initiative forms part of its continuing network expansion program in Southern Luzon. The project also positions MSEUF as a potential hub for future programs involving next-generation networks, cybersecurity, data analytics, industry projects, internships, mentorships and curriculum support.

The new infrastructure will support access to cloud-based applications, research databases, artificial intelligence technologies and other digital resources used in higher education. MSEUF will also be integrated into Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program, which promotes responsible digital citizenship and cybersecurity awareness among students and educators.

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation was recognized as one of the redeputized private higher education institution providers of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) during the 32nd Commission on Higher Education Anniversary Strategic Partnership Convergence at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, June 10. 

MSEUF received the recognition under CHED Memorandum Order No. 11, series of 2025, where the University was the only institution from Region IV-A CALABARZON included among the newly approved ETEEAP providers.

Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for academics and research, and Atty. Dario Opistan, vice president for administration, attended the event on behalf of Chairman/CEO Wilfrido Enverga and President/COO Naila Leveriza.

Seventy-three qualifiers of the Enverga Entrance Scholarship Program were recognized in a ceremony held June 10, at the AEC Little Theater of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation.

Accompanied by their parents and guardians, the scholarship recipients received their certificates of recognition from Rey Marco Casino, officer-in-charge of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, and Maria Isabel Granada, director of the Office of Scholarships and Endowment, Job Placement and Alumni Relations.

Of the 73 qualifiers, the top 10 scholars will receive a 100% scholarship covering tuition and miscellaneous fees for four years, subject to MSEUF Scholarship Policies and Guidelines. To retain the grant, scholars must maintain academic performance with no grade lower than 2.0 throughout their four-year college program.

Meanwhile, 25 qualifiers received a 100% tuition scholarship, while 38 qualifiers received a 50% tuition scholarship. Both grants are valid for one academic year and subject to the same scholarship policies and guidelines.

In his welcome remarks, Celso Jaballa, vice president for external relations, reminded the scholars that the scholarship is not a destination but an opportunity that opens doors to their dreams. He encouraged them to pursue excellence through perseverance, discipline, focus and a strong sense of responsibility, stressing that their success remains in their own hands.

Before the signing of the scholarship agreement, Granada explained the scholarship policies and retention requirements. She reminded the scholars to maintain grades not lower than 2.0, uphold good moral character and preserve a positive reputation as student ambassadors of the university.

The Entrance Scholarship Program attracted 545 applicants from 87 senior high schools across Quezon Province and neighboring provinces, reflecting the growing interest of outstanding students in pursuing quality education at MSEUF.

Through the program, the university continues to recognize academic achievement and provide deserving learners with opportunities to pursue higher education with greater confidence and support.

Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) and OpeniT Asia Inc. conducted the Open iT Development Bootcamp to strengthen students’ industry-ready skills in full stack development and data science through lectures, workshops, guided exercises and capstone projects, May 4-29.

The four-week bootcamp formed part of the academic-industry collaboration between MSEUF and OpeniT Asia Inc., formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed by University President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Leveriza and OpeniT Asia Inc. Branch Representative Rod Julius Zamora.

The program introduced participants to real-world development tools, workflows and best practices. It also provided hands-on training designed to bridge classroom learning with practical industry application.

The bootcamp offered two tracks: Full Stack Development and Data Science. The Full Stack Track instructors were Jhon Angelo Virtucio, senior software developer I; Clarice Salanda, senior software developer I; John Lyndon Philip Planas, senior software developer II; and Alexander Maralit, instructor from the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies (CCMS).

The Data Science Track instructors were Sam Lagrosas, associate data scientist; Andrew Purio, full stack developer; Rod Julius Zamora, research director; and Mary Meliza Parcon, CCMS instructor.

In the Data Science Track, Balasta, Matubaran, Oabel, Peña and Villa were named top performers. Celestial and Remolona received the Best in Capstone award for their project, “Enverga Admission AI.”

The bootcamp supported MSEUF’s continuing efforts to provide experiential learning opportunities that prepare students for professional practice in technology-driven industries. Through the partnership, students gained exposure to technical training, project development and industry-based mentoring.

The initiative reflected MSEUF’s commitment to Excellence, Service and Fortitude by helping students build practical competencies, professional confidence and readiness for emerging careers in computing and data-driven fields. Both squads traded baskets during the early stages of the game, keeping the contest competitive. However, Enverga Mauban took control in the fourth quarter, relying on disciplined execution, teamwork, and composure to build a decisive lead and secure the 13-point victory.

A total of 48 academic deans, program chairs, department chairs and subject matter experts participated in the three-day workshop.

Rodrigo Belleza Jr., dean of the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies and chairperson of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance Self-Assessment Reports Committee, facilitated the training.

Through lectures, workshops and collaborative discussions, participants strengthened their understanding of outcomes-based education, constructive alignment and quality assurance frameworks.

The sessions also provided academic leaders and faculty experts with opportunities to review curriculum practices and align learning outcomes, teaching strategies and assessment methods with institutional and international quality standards.

Anchored on the theme “Futuring Research for Upholding Global Excellence,” the colloquium gathered faculty members, researchers, students and academic leaders for a day of scholarly presentations, discussions and recognition of outstanding research outputs.

Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, acting vice president for academics and research, opened the program and emphasized the importance of sustaining research initiatives that contribute to institutional growth, innovation and academic distinction.

Dr. Felix Mercado, dean of the Dr. Cesar A. Villariba Research and Knowledge Management Institute, presented the objectives and rationale of the colloquium. He underscored the role of research in generating new knowledge, advancing academic excellence and strengthening the University’s global competitiveness.

“How can research help shape the future we aspire to create?” Mercado asked, challenging participants to look beyond research presentations and reflect on how scholarship can help build a more sustainable and future-ready society.

He also connected the research papers to key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4, quality education; SDG 3, good health and well-being; SDG 8, decent work and economic growth; SDG 9, industry, innovation and infrastructure; SDG 13, climate action; SDG 16, peace, justice and strong institutions; and SDG 17, partnerships for the goals.

Dr. Mohd Raziff Jamaluddin, head of corporate communication at the Institute of Business Excellence, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, served as plenary speaker. Ms. Rose Anne Reyes introduced Jamaluddin, who discussed research productivity, innovation and international collaboration as key drivers of scholarly impact and global responsiveness.

Jamaluddin highlighted the need for universities to foster creativity, strengthen interdisciplinary engagement, embrace emerging technologies and build strategic international partnerships. He said these efforts help institutions remain relevant and globally competitive in an increasingly interconnected world.

The colloquium also featured research presentations and scholarly discussions that allowed participants to exchange ideas, present research outputs and explore possible collaborative initiatives.

The ceremony was led by University Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Wilfrido Enverga and University President and Chief Operating Officer Naila Leveriza, who joined university officials and stakeholders in commemorating the start of the project's construction.

The program opened with a prayer led by Arby Lagman, director of the Sustainability Department. Vice President for Administration Atty. Dario Opistan delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the significance of the Multi-Purpose Event Center as a modern venue for university events, student engagement, and institutional gatherings. Once completed, the facility is expected to serve as a central hub for academic, cultural, and community functions across the university.

A symbolic groundbreaking and time capsule-laying ceremony followed, with key university officials and project stakeholders participating in the activity. Those present included Vice President for External Relations Celso Jaballa, Acting Vice President for Academics and Research Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, EXECOM/TWG Architect Raul Villanueva, Engr. Misail Laygo of Laygo Builders, and University Collegiate Student Council President Yuan Rafael Hernandez.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Vice President Carlito Rodriguez, who expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the realization of the project.

Strengthening the college’s faculty expertise in creative technology, digital arts and animation, Erika Marca, an instructor of Entertainment and Multimedia Computing and Multimedia Arts, successfully completed her Master of Computer Graphics and Animation (MCGA), major in Digital Arts, Animation and Production, at Ateneo de Naga University, May 30, 

Marca completed her graduate degree with the thesis titled “Cyclical Storytelling through Infinite Zoom: An Interactive Web-Based Narrative System for Visual Engagement,” which explored how interactive visual narratives can enhance digital engagement.

John Rover Sinag, program chair of the Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing and Bachelor of Multimedia Arts programs, said Marca’s achievement reflects the college’s continuing commitment to faculty growth and industry-relevant learning.

“Ms. Marca’s achievement is a proud moment for the College of Computing and Multimedia Studies because it shows how our faculty continue to grow with the needs of the creative and digital industries,” Sinag said.

“Her graduate work in computer graphics, animation and interactive storytelling will help enrich the learning experiences of our students in multimedia arts and entertainment computing.”

Sinag also said Marca’s accomplishment strengthens the college’s efforts to develop graduates who can combine creativity, technical skill and innovation.

“We believe that students learn best from mentors who continue to explore, create and innovate,” Sinag said.

“Her dedication to advanced study inspires our students to pursue excellence and to see digital arts not only as a field of creativity, but also as a space for research, problem-solving and meaningful engagement.”

Through her graduate studies, Marca further developed her expertise in digital arts, animation, production and interactive media, fields that continue to shape communication, entertainment, education and technology-driven industries.
