Goal
The Institute of Graduate Studies and Research in tandem with the Dr. Cesar A. Villariba Research and Knowledge Management Institute aims to upgrade the capacities of education, business, engineering, IT, criminology, public administration and management professionals to make positive contributions to research and practice.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTE
The objectives of the IGSR in tandem with the DCAVRKMI are
- to raise the students’ expertise level in their area of specialization;
- to train value-laden entrepreneurs, consultants and specialists in education, business, engineering, IT, criminology, public administration and management who can analyze problems and offer solutions in their areas of specialization; and
- to produce, validate, apply and utilize new knowledge in the practice of the professions.
Aside from the objectives stated above, the institution is committed

Program Educational Objectives
Doctor of Education major in Educational Management
The Doctor of Education major in Educational Management program will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in such fields as education, educational management, and curriculum and instruction;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as any of the following: effective school administrators, managers, teachers; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Doctor of Management
The Doctor of Management will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in such fields as business administration, management, organizational development and planning, and corporate social responsibility;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as any of the following: effective chairman and chief executive officer, president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, general manager, executive vice president, managing director and manager in a variety of industries; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Doctor of Philosophy in English
The Doctor of Philosophy in English will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in the field of English language teaching, research, and administration;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as any of the following: effective English teachers and researchers; manager of English language program, English language specialists and English language teachers; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Master of Arts in Education
Specializations: Educational Management, Guidance and Counseling, English, Filipino, Mathematics
The Master of Arts in Education program will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in any of the following fields: educational management, guidance and counseling, communication (English and Filipino), cultural education, and mathematics;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as any of the following: effective school administrators, teachers, and guidance counselors; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Master of Arts in Teaching
The Master of Arts in Teaching program will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in teaching in all levels of education;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as any of the following: effective school administrators and teachers; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Master of Arts in Science Education
The Master of Arts in Science Education program will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in the field of the teaching and learning of science;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as effective school teachers; and
- apply research outputs through publication and/or community extension in the practice of their profession to make scholarly contributions to human knowledge and/or community development.
Master of Arts in Physical Education
The Master of Arts in Physical Education program will enable its graduates to:
- upgrade their professional competence in the field of the teaching and learning of physical education;
- demonstrate professional and value laden skills as effective school teachers; and

Master of Arts in English
The Master of Arts in English program will enable its graduates to:

The Master in Business Administration program will enable its graduates to:
