The two month-long summer internship program for 10 students of the College of Tourism Hotel and Restaurant Management culminated with the awarding of certificates and orientation of parents at the AEC Little Theater, July 30.

In keeping with the college mission to develop students and tap their potentials into future industry leaders, 10 interns worked and got associated with people of different cultures in the United States of America under the Work and Tour Program of the First Place Inc.

Students who were fielded in the different places in the US were: ArjayAlmiranez, Druid Hills Golf club in Atlanta, Georgia; Ran Ronald Brucal in Weschester Country Club,Rye, New York; JobelleParinas in Wonderworks Orlanda, Orlanda, Florida; Raymond Sarmiento in Holiday Inn Downtown Marina, Corpus    Christi, Texas; Bryan Jalbuena, Bienhur Manalo and Kevin EdrianNeda in Duffy Street Seafood Shack, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Angelica Sayson and  OrlanSunoy in Landry’s Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, Galveston, Texas; and Jayson Veluya in Nickeldeon Suites Hotel, Orlando, Florida.

Meanwhile during the orientation program, representative from Open University of Malaysia (OUM) discussed the international practicum program of the OUM being offered to students from foreign universities as part of their collaboration in transitional education program which is the trend in the global education today.

Mrs. Maricel Herrera, acting dean of the college encouraged the parents to participate in this once in a lifetime offer of big university like OUM and other service providing agencies like the First Place Inc., the Sprott-shaw and Meyers,Inc.
