A top executive of Unilever International in London will speak before the faculties and students June 26 in a year-long program dubbed Enverga University Global Leaders forum. Unilever Vice President for Diversity Rhodora Palomar-Fresnedi who has just spoken at the Oxford University Business economics Program will inspire students with her small-town beginnings and how she coped as an Asian and a woman in a diverse global setting. In her recent Oxford University speech, Fresnedi said that "feminine qualities, while not exclusive to women, are critical to transforming organizations". "It's about being intuitive, being comfortable with ambiguity, being adaptable and flexible and being comfortable with change. It is about winning with others as against winning over others. It is having the ability to multi-task and being sensitive to people's needs and emotions." "In a study done 25 years ago," Fresnedi added, "those feminine qualities were barriers to advancement. Today, these are the very qualities that are needed to transform organizations." Fresnedi is the niece of former faculty member Dr. Esmeraldo Palomar who taught literature and writing classes at Enverga Univeristy's College of Arts and Sciences.
