The Director of the MSEUF Research and Publications Center administers and directs the university’s research undertakings; coordinates activities of external agencies for research linkages and disseminates research output via publication and research colloquium.
Relative to the above, the Director
a. Facilitates the evaluation and recommends funding of institutional
research proposals;
b. Supervises institutionally funded faculty researches under the
University Research Program;
c. Monitors externally funded research projects undertaken by the
faculty researchers;
d. Documents and assists formulation, review and amendment of
guidelines and policies governing research in the University;
e. Ensures uniform implementation of guidelines governing both
institutionally and externally funded research projects;
f. Provides research project development and technical assistance to
faculty undertaking research;
g. Manages and supervises staff of the Center;
h. Oversees the proper discharge of office functions, responsibilities and
activities;
i. Disseminates research outputs through publications and research
colloquia;
j. Acts as editor-in-chief of the MSEUF Research Studies, the official
publication of the MSEUF Research and Publications Center;
k. Coordinates the other activities of the Center such as:
• Research Capability Building Seminar (RCBS)
• Establishment of Linkages with External Funding Agencies
• Documentation, Storage and Retrieval of Research Outputs
• Consultancy Services for Faculty Researchers
l. Plans the annual activities of the Center;
m. Prepares and submits annual reports of accomplishments to
the University President and the Vice-President for Academic Affairs;
n. Establishes and develops the Center as the university’s databank
for research and development studies;
o. Helps in the mapping out of the research thrusts of the university;
p. Coordinates with the Discipline Research Coordinator of the research
unit of each college/ department;
q. Prepares annual/semestral budget of the Center; and
r. Performs other tasks and responsibilities related to or implied from
the above enumerated functions and/or other tasks which may be
designated by the University President and/or the Vice President for
Academic Affairs.
